Rehabilitation is a program using exercise, education, and
support to assist in the cardiovascular system's healing process.
For most people, this is needed after a cardiac problem such
as heart attack, angioplasty, or open heart surgery. The Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at Mid Coast Hospital is certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
The program consists of 24 to 36 classes, and includes nine lectures. Classes are held on Monday,
Wednesday and Friday, and generally last for one hour.
