Rehabilitation Services
The
newest addition to Mid Coast Hospital includes a
physical therapy/occupational therapy suite on the
newly expanded Medical/Surgical Unit. This facility
provides the latest in rehabilitative equipment.
Having the physical/occupational
therapy suite on the same unit as our orthopedic
surgical
patients
- allows our staff to provide
the best rehabilitative therapies with minimal
time spent transporting
patients to and from their rooms,
- minimizes chance
of infection,
as patients do not have to leave the unit
to obtain services, and
- allows nursing staff and doctors
immediate
access to rehabilitative staff and patients
at
all times.
Because the new
Medical/Surgical Unit has private rooms, occupational
therapy
services
and some
physical therapy services can take
place right in the patient’s
room.
As always, our rehabilitative
services staff provide the highest quality
care to our patients,
so that
they can return home and resume
normal activities as quickly as possible. |
