in an Advanced Care Setting
Midwives have long held a cherished position in our community, helping mothers bring new life into the world. We at Mid Coast Hospital are fortunate to have five wonderfully skilled women whose warmth, experience, and advice have made them “part of the family” for hundreds of area women.
Aoife E. O'Brien, RN, CNM, Suzanne Zimmerman, CNM, Alexis Nolan, RN, CNM, Maud van de Wiele, RN, CNM, and Annemarie B. Curnin, CNM, provide 24/7 midwifery services in Mid Coast Hospital’s home-like birthing suites. At the same time, you have the peace of mind knowing Mid Coast’s full maternity services—including fetal monitoring, lab, anesthesiology, and OB/GYNs —are right at hand if needed. A room dedicated to water births is also available.
CenteringPregnancy® is an evidenced-based model of group prenatal care that integrates basic prenatal health assessment and education with social support. The Centering program allows women with similar “due months” to meet in a group setting, participate in their own care, and create supportive relationships that last far beyond the birth of their child. Facilitated by our nationally certified nurse midwives the CenteringPregnancy program provides expectant mothers with group prenatal care, education, empowerment, and support in convenient two-hour sessions.
The Mid Coast Centering program has resulted in better health outcomes and long-term support for hundreds of area families. Call our midwives today at 721-8700 and learn why many mothers-to-be find turning to this exciting and educational form of prenatal care.
