"Do what you love, and never work a day in your life,” is the guiding philosophy of Jessica Loney’s nursing career. As Community Health Education Coordinator, Jessica regards each day as a new opportunity to bring about positive change in the health of the communities served by Mid Coast Hospital.

Jessica's job at Mid Coast entails working with various partners to assess community health needs and coordinating community health education programming that meets those needs. She manages several programs featured in the Healthline guide, the hospital’s local health resource. Some of these programs include 5-2-1-0 Let’s Go!, a program that promotes healthy choices for children and Matter of Balance, a program that promotes strategies for preventing falls for seniors. She also provides leadership for local and regional efforts to improve care for vulnerable populations.

"I like the diversity of people I meet through my work. I love being able to instill creativity and innovation into helping people to achieve good health. It is very satisfying for me when I see people adopting changes that can add years to their lives.”

Outside of the hospital, Jessica enjoys spending time with family, exploring points of interest in Maine and beyond, and discovering new options for maintaining health and wellness.

Jessica holds an Associate of Science in Nursing from the University of Maine, Augusta , a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Southern Maine, and a Master of Science in Nursing Leadership and Management from Walden University.
