Rehabilitation Department provides both inpatient and
outpatient services at Mid Coast Hospital and Mid Coast
Senior Health Center.
Physical
Therapy, specializing in strength and mobility in
movement and function.
Occupational
Therapy, focusing on the activities of daily life
to return to home and work.
Speech
Therapy, focusing on language, voice, and speech
disorders and also on the mechanics of swallowing and
cognitive functioning. Voice clarity and quality as
well as memory, attention, reasoning are the part of

Audiology/Hearing
focusing on how our hearing affects learning and daily
activities. All our certified audiologists earned master's
degrees. There are special services for children. Mid
Coast Hospital is a licensed hearing aid dispenser with

Rehabilitation
is key element in helping patients to return to full
activity and fulfilling a physician's treatment plan.
Mid Coast Hospital provides a full range of services
"We address activities of daily living, work activities,
and learning skills," says director Dory Holmes,
MPH, OTR/L.
Patients
may be young or old and needing help due a sports injury,
surgery, or even complete joint replacement. Along with
other special services, children can be evaluated for
hearing problems or communication difficulties.
All
of our staff members are graduates of college and university
programs, most at the post-graduate level, and are licensed
by the State of Maine. Each professional has honed skills
in a variety of treatment settings and has made a commitment
to continuing education.
