The Effects of the Progression of Dementia on the Brain Centers and Functional Ability
On June 19, from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. Doreen Siddall, Nurse Practitioner, Bodwell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Mid Coast Senior Health Center, will present “The Effects of the Progression of Dementia on the Brain Centers and Functional Ability.”


The presentation will focus on how different types of dementia affect the brain and causing various behaviors and declines.

After the presentation, Siddall will co-facilitate a group discussion with Cindy Hughes, Activities Director for The Garden, a memory care living residence at the Senior Health Center.

Caring for someone with dementia is a significant responsibility with unique challenges and rewards. Mid Coast Senior Health Center offers a monthly support group with presentations designed to help participants understand the challenges of caring for someone with memory loss, while fostering supportive and beneficial group conversation.

This free support group is open to the public and meets the third Thursday of every month at Mid Coast Senior Health Center, in the Community Room, at 58 Baribeau Drive in Brunswick. For more information about the support group and future presentations, please call (207) 373-3646.
