James Marc-Aurele, Clinical Supervisor of Occupational Therapy, finds inspiration every day in the courage and perseverance of the cancer survivors whom he treats for lympedema. "It is an honor to be part of their care team,” he says.
James is director of the lymphedema program at Mid Coast, and is responsible for the resources management, program planning, and coordination of occupational therapy services within the hospital. He is also a member of the hospital’s Breast Health Care team.
James is Maine’s elected representative to the American Occupational Therapy Association Representative Assembly, and is a past president of the Maine Occupational Therapy Association. He is also chairperson of MPower, Maine’s Adaptive Equipment Loan Program.
"What I enjoy most about my job is the opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives. As a clinician, I find satisfaction in helping individuals to more effectively manage their illnesses or recover from an injury.”
"As a supervisor, I take great pleasure in helping to foster my staff’s professional growth while working to build a cohesive team to service the needs of the Midcoast community. We are fortunate to have such a diverse, talented team of professionals. They are among the finest I have ever been associated with.”
James earned his BS in Occupational Therapy from Worcester (MA) State College in 1992, and a Master’s in Business Administration in 2005.
