Having grown up on a farm in Bowdoin, Liana Kelly, MSN, FNP, learned at an early age that hard work pays off. As a Nurse Practitioner with Mid Coast Center for Diabetes & Endocrinology, she greatly enjoys her work helping people manage Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes. The ability to improve people’s everyday lives is a well-deserved reward for putting herself through a Masters of Nursing program while working full-time.
A true believer in the holistic approach to nursing, she incorporates this philosophy into her practice at the center. When meeting with patients she values the opportunity to get a comprehensive understanding of the individual’s lifestyle and how those elements may be impacting the body’s functions. Her prescribed care plans reflect the individual’s routines and patterns, addressing the whole body, not just the disease.
Although she lived away for many years, Maine is and will always be her home. Ultimately, she convinced her husband and son to move back to the "farm”. Her twin step-daughters love being there as well. She is blessed to live on the same road as two of her three sisters, most of her twenty-five first cousins, and the parish hall that is large enough to hold family gatherings!
Whether singing in the church choir, or playing one of five learned musical instruments, Liana embraces life and the company of the people around her. Something she works so hard to allow her patients to do as well.
