Welcome to the Mid Coast Hospital Auxiliary

Mid Coast Hospital Maternity Care Unit
Yardsale Volunteers

You are welcome to join our Mid Coast Hospital Auxiliary! We are men and women, friends, neighbors, associates and family within the mid coast Maine community who support the mission of Mid Coast Hospital to bring “modern, compassionate value-driven healthcare to our communities.”

Auxiliary History
at Mid Coast Hospital

The Mid Coast Hospital Auxiliary, formed October 1, 2001, is extremely active in supporting the mission of the hospital. All interested persons are welcome to join the Auxiliary by clicking on the application in the right column and paying dues, depending on your level of activity. All Auxilians receive free copies of the Volunteer Pulse newsletter published by the Volunteer Services Department, as well as invitations to all Auxiliary functions and many hospital events. Many Auxilians also choose to volunteer in the hospital, showing further support for high quality healthcare on the coast of Maine.

Prior to Oct. 1, 2001, the Bath and Brunswick Auxiliaries existed in their communities to support the missions of the former Bath Memorial Hospital and Regional Memorial Hospital for over 100 combined years. They
merged into one Auxiliary, just prior to the opening of the new hospital, although as two Auxiliaries they cooperated for years on fund raising projects and meetings.

Activities

The Auxiliary has contributed nearly $1 million to the new hospital, including the current pledge of $120,000 for an upgrade to the Maternity infant security system. The Gift Shop is one of the major fund raisers, in addition to the annual yard sale, holiday bazaar, used book sale, book signings and bake sales, proceeds of which all benefit the hospital and health career scholarships.

Scholarships

The Auxiliary is very proud of its efforts in supporting health career scholarships for mid coast area students attending four-year colleges, technical colleges or other specialized training. About $40,000 is awarded every spring to deserving students who must apply by April 15, and will attend an accredited institution of higher learning. Continuing education scholarships are also awarded to employees. Scholarship applications are available on this website. More information may be obtained by calling the Volunteer Services Department at (207) 373-6015 or emailing MCHA.scholarships@gmail.com.
