The Addiction Resource Center (ARC) is nationally recognized for our high-quality, confidential treatment for drug and alcohol addiction. We have a proven track record of helping individuals overcome challenges of alcohol and drug use.

With two convenient locations in Brunswick and Damariscotta, our caring and compassionate staff is here to help individuals return to a healthy lifestyle. The highly trained ARC staff is friendly, approachable, and available whenever assistance is needed – every call is answered, and no one is ever turned away.

Accredited and Integrated

With the full support and resources of Mid Coast Hospital, the ARC is integrated with a comprehensive system of healthcare services, allowing for easy referrals, coordinated care, and full access for anyone in need of assistance, regardless of their inability to pay.

As a program of Mid Coast Hospital, the Addiction Resource Center is fully accredited by the Joint Commission. This Gold Seal of Approval® demonstrates our compliance with the Joint Commission’s national standards for healthcare quality and safety.

The ARC is also licensed by the Maine State Office of Substance Abuse to provide prevention and treatment services, co-occurring mental health disorders treatment, and driver education and evaluation.

  • Bath-Brunswick addiction program seen as possible model
    The Addiction Resource Center may be responsible for the low overdose death rate in the midcoast area, thanks to its emphasis on efficiency and timely delivery of services. (7/3/2016)
  • Law enforcement in Midcoast, health care providers team up to fight addiction
    After months of planning law enforcement officials in several Midcoast communities have signed an agreement with health care agencies to work together to combat drug addiction. (7/15/2016)
  • Maine county’s new approach to drug abuse goes beyond arrests
    In an effort to combat what Boothbay Harbor Police Chief Robert Hasch called “the problem of our time,” Lincoln County law enforcement and addiction treatment providers have undertaken a countywide collaboration designed to make drug treatment programs available locally to those suffering with addiction — particularly to heroin and other opiates.   • Brunswick drug treatment center offers addicts ‘second chance’
    In September, results of a national study showed Haram and his staff what Yamauchi and dozens of other clients at the center already knew: Patients at the Addiction Resource Center improve at twice to nearly four times the national average rate when compared with 15,000 similar programs around the country. The center’s outpatients improved at more than twice the national average, according to the study, while those in the partial hospitalization program had an improvement rate nearly four times the national average, according to the study by Harvard McLean Hospital.
