Through
our healing environment project, we build upon the hospital's
natural setting while working with local artists to provide
symbols, spaces, and surroundings that join body and spirit,
science and healing.
Hospital
design takes full advantage of the surrounding woods, outcroppings
of ledge, and habitat for wildlife. Large windows bring that natural
beauty into public spaces and patient rooms.

Young
Artist Tile Painting Project
During
2000 and 2001, students in 16 area schools participated in a
special project hand painting ceramic tiles. These young artists
were asked to paint a message of their choosing for the patients,
families and staff of the new Mid Coast Hospital.
