Telehealth Visits

As novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) continues to impact our communities, Mid Coast Hospital has made it a priority to start using new technologies that allow us to provide the same high-quality patient care while keeping our patients and care teams safe during this public health crisis.

In efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19 in our communities and reduce the risk of sick patients having to travel for an office visit, we are now offering secure telehealth video visits for patients seen at Mid Coast Medical Group primary and specialty care practices as well as the Mid Coast Hospital Walk-In Clinic.

What is Telehealth?

A video visit is like a regular in-person visit, just over video. The patient sits in front of a camera on their computer, smartphone, or tablet, and they can see their provider on the screen. Patients can use the visit to talk about medical concerns, symptoms, get a prescription, a diagnosis, and more. Video visits allow patients to have a visit with their provider without having to travel or leave their home.

How to Access Telehealth

Practices will contact patients if they think that a visit is appropriate for video. Alternatively, patients may reach out for more information and to see if video visits are available. Telephone visits are also available for individuals that may not feel comfortable or have the technology for a telehealth visit.

Telehealth visits are also available at the Mid Coast Hospital Walk-In Clinic by checking in online

If your provider feels that you need to be evaluated in person, he or she will refer you to the appropriate care setting.
