How Insurance Billing Works
Mid Coast Hospital is pleased to participate with a large network of commonly recognized health insurance plans. We will also work with any Workers Compensation carrier covering workers in the State of Maine. We do not participate with any dental or vision plans.
Once you receive services in any of our facilities, we will submit a claim to your health insurance with a valid insurance card. Co-Payments are expected at the time services are rendered and are applied to your financial responsibility for services.
We work closely with all insurance carriers, and we are often able to answer questions and resolve payment issues on behalf of patients as a courtesy. Still, patients need to be aware of the status of their bills and follow up with insurance companies if payments have not been made within 45 days.
You will receive a bill when your health insurance carrier has processed the claim and if there is any outstanding balance for co-insurance or annual deductibles that are your responsibility.
