Guidelines

Mid Coast Hospital volunteers:
  • are team players—providing great customer service wherever that service need might be
    have positive attitudes, and are cheerful, friendly and enthusiastic
  • are willing to help patients and families, whatever the situation may be
  • understand that safety is #1 and everybody’s business
  • have a high respect for patients and their families
  • absolutely understand importance of patient confidentiality
  • work at being good listeners and making eye contact
  • work effectively with entire hospital staff, paid or unpaid
  • have the ability to follow directions well
  • attend hospital volunteer orientation and specialized training
  • are dependable and available for one volunteer shift a week, for at least six months
